If you're looking to interact with dolphins and other marine wildlife, then check out the attractions operated by Dolphin Cove Jamaica on the north coast. Since the success of the first park in Ocho Rios, other locations in Lucea and at the Half Moon Resort have sprung up in proximity to Montego Bay and Negril.
With five acres of tropical rainforest surrounding the bay, Dolphin Cove Ocho Rios offers a variety of activities to keep even the most discerning visitor occupied. You can go for a swim with the dolphins, snorkel with stingrays, pet, feed and swim with sharks and you can also interact with other sea life including starfish, urchins and conchs in the Touch Tank.
The Dolphin Cove in Ocho Rios is also home to the unique Dolphin Trek, where you'll put on an underwater helmet and descend 15 feet to the seabed, where you can interact with dolphins in their natural habitat.
If you're those passionate about marine life, you have the opportunity to work with professional animal trainers and learn about sea creatures, like dolphins, sharks, stingrays and more. You'll be made "Sea Keeper for a Day." Professionals will take you behind the scenes into the lives of dolphins, and you'll have the chance to participate in food preparation and feeding. This program also allows you to employ behavior interaction with dolphins, sharks and stingrays, as well as introduce techniques employed by professionals.
There is also plenty to enjoy above water, just follow the nature trail that'll take you through the jungle, where you'll hand feed free-flying birds at the Bird Aviary, stroke an indigenous snake or snap a picture with an iguana. You'll also have the chance to enjoy some activities on the beach, such as glass bottom kayaking and mini boat rides.
Set over 20 acres of oceanfront, Dolphin Cove Negril is located in Lucea, between Montego Bay and Negril. It offers the same activities as Ocho Rios, minus the Dolphin Trek. Whether you're a swimmer or not, you can participate in any program based on your ability and comfort with the water. At Dolphin Cove Negril you'll also have the chance to ride camels, interact with stingrays, observe a shark show and interact with many other exotic sea creatures in the Touch Trek.
The dolphin lagoon at the Half Moon Resort in Montego Bay is only open to guests of the resort.
Experienced handlers staff all three parks, and they will provide you with comprehensive orientation and educational sessions, while introducing you to the world of dolphins and marine life before any interaction takes place.
